The “Giulio Douhet” Centre for Aeronautical Military Studies (CESMA) wants to provide an authoritative centre for debating, at an appropriate qualitative level, issues dealing with security and the consequent use of air power. The centre’s aim is to develop, from a national as well as an international perspective, a through examination of the above issues in their different aspects – diplomatic, legal, doctrinaire, technological, and economic – involving Italian and foreign experts, academicians, managers as well as similar institutions and study centers. This Air Force Association’s initiative is clearly aimed not only at providing a qualified thinking contribution at Air Staff level, where decisions are taken, or at operational level, where they are executed, but also at spreading among the citizens a clear perception of the air power importance and, above all, at making the Nation to acquire a security and defence culture, nowadays limited to qualified audiences.
